Vegan Vegetable Pizza

When trying to eat healthy you are advised to stay away from junk food. We understand that people don’t really want to give up quick bites like pizza especially when you are trying to inspire the children that healthy is tasty and good for you. So we have created a thin  crust pizza base that is quick to prepare and delicious enough for the teenager to love it!

This is great for a midweek menu.

Using both spelt flour and almond flour means this is not so heavy on the digestion so you will love it even more.

You can replace the flour with a gluten free flour but make sure it's organic.

Spelt is an ancient grain that’s similar to wheat in appearance but has a tougher husk, which helps protect the nutrients inside the grain. Flour made from spelt has a nutty, slightly sweet flavor and can be used in most recipes that call for regular or whole-wheat flour.

Like wheat, barley and rye, spelt is a gluten grain. Gluten is the protein that gives bread and other baked goods their texture. Since it has gluten, spelt flour can replace whole wheat or whole grain flour in most bread recipes. It’s not identical, though. The gluten in spelt isn’t as strong as wheat gluten.

You can also use Almond Flour, In this recipe we use a small amount of both! Almond flour is a gluten-free nut flour that should consist of nothing but ground blanched (no skin) almonds. It’s often used as a low-carb substitute for wheat flour in bread and other baked goods.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of spelt flour

  • 2/3rds of a cup of almond flour

  • 1/2 tsp of baking powder

  • 1/2 cup of filtered water

  • 1 cup of passata sauce blended with 1 drop of doTERRA rosemary essential oil and 1 drop of doTERRA basil essential oil

  • 1 cup of sliced red pepper

  • 150 grams of sliced mushrooms

  • 1 cup of chopped pineapple

  • 1 cup of homemade vegan cheese sauce

  • 1 cup of raw cashew nuts

  • 1 cup of deactivated yeast flakes

  • 2 tsps of apple cider vinegar

  • 1/2 tsp of Himalayan salt

  • 2 tbls of onion powder

  • 1/2 tsp of smoked paprika
